What the heck is all this about?

Well, it seems you made it to my personal "photoblog" — the website where I feature some of the photos I've taken in the past years. If you would like to comment on them, please feel free to share your thoughts; any feedback is welcome.

I am a non-professional photographer who'd love to spend more time on taking and editing pictures. However, working as an IT consultant and having a family does not allow for much more.

Most photos were taken either with my Canon EOS 50D (older ones with an EOS 350D) or Powershot G12. My favorite DSLR lenses are the Canon 24-105mm 1:4L and the Canon 100mm 1:2.8. However, I think that pricy equipment is not necessarily required for taking good shots — some of the pictures you see on these pages were taken with my budget point-and-shoot camera, a Canon PowerShot SX110 IS.

For developing / editing my pics I use Adobe Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS4 under Windows 7, The Gimp under GNU/Linux or some freeware tools.

Below is a list of links that you might find useful — or that I just wanted to share with you:

  • Pixelpost - This is the application that runs this photoblog. It's free, easy to use and you can customize it to death. Really great software!
  • The Gimp - Free image editing software for Windows, Mac and GNU/Linux.
